whoopsy daisy

Here's a lesson I learned: sometimes when you put a lot of things on your face in an attempt to reverse the rapid aging process you, uh... well? Sometimes your face gets burned. BADLY. So much so that you won't leave the house because your face is red, peeling like crazy, and has all new wrinkles and scars you were kind of trying to avoid. Yeah... why did I do that? Not good. I was going to make a video that celebrated my suckering over 100 people in to subscribing to my videos but that's going to have to wait until I look less like your grandma spent way too much time in the tanning beds.

Meanwhile, since I could not sit around being vain, I got my politics on. I'd be very interested to see how you all are feeling post DNC. I have a lot to say but I don't want to write out a huge post only to discover I've put you all to sleep. For now I'll keep it simple:

Obama = good

McCain = bad

Clintonites = get over it

Biden = you're alright crusty, old, white dude

Palin = you are not Hillary Clinton, bitch

Actually, I'm patting myself on the back right now and saying "Kick ass summary, Lily. You sure are awesome." Yes, me. Yes, I am.

Let me just say this: the Democrats better win the next election.

If they don't, I'm seriously going to consider renouncing my U.S. citizenship.

How's that for being dramatic? :-p

I tend to think when you start talking politics it isolsates atleast a couple of people. Especially when using a lot of vitriole or hate. And face it a lot of people are going to be tired fo politics soon.

having said that, the people who tend to read your blog are probably going to agree with you more often than not. Not that they need to agree with you to be needed to be said. Your and everyone's personal expression and feelings are very important. Plus if your excited about it, and feel personally connected to it you should talk about it. Other people might get excited by proxy.

I just don't like how some who feel so strongly about issues or parties they use words like idiot, jerk, money whore, unfeeling, commie, touchy feely crapper, etc, etc... You should respect either side regardless of how wrong you think they may be.

Julie-anne, we would miss ya, but you arent here and probably arent voting anyway. Plus others promised same thing with Bush election and they are still here.

Arent you in Buffalo Bitsy? Which is basically Canadalite anyway.

I think I am going to vote for Ron Paul regardless. I know it won't count but it makes me feel better anyway.

I think it's probably best for me to seek an alternate outlet for political discourse especially now that I know you are a Ron Paul supporter, Strong. It doesn't seem worth it to risk alienating you (or anyone else for that matter) just so I can stand on my soapbox and feel righteous.

Strong, I actually do vote in the election, via absentee ballot. I even pay postage to mail the damn envelope.

I'm glad you still vote, julie-anne. No matter anyone's party affiliation, I think we can all agree that it's important to elect someone who is ready to facilitate the civil liberties that the queer and trans communities so desperately need.

I think there are very few politicians who talk about gay lesbian issues, let alone trans issues. Obama skirted around the issue of gay marriage. I believe saying something along the lines of"Everyone should be able to visit loved ones in the hospital". Not exactly a ringing endorsement. I can't imagine he will do much for the community. The "great" clinton instituted don't ask don't tell. Which I would think would be horrible for those involved. Wisconsin does have a gay senator, and I believe she has brought forth a few things. Maybe democrats want to do more, but really aren't willing to fight for it all that much. Of course Republicans ussually say nothing, and if they do its ussually bad. Plus they ussually try to block anything for gay rights. But I don't think LGBT issues will be talked about much at all during this election. Most elections in my opinion aren't who you like best its who you dislike least, and can live with.

Oh my gosh Lilly, I am so sorry. here I try to talk you out of talking politics, and I start yammering about it right away. I said Ron Paul because ussually people stop talking politics to me after that. Well I do like some of the things he said too. If only the media would of listened.

As far as I am concerened you can get on your soapbox, cause if you can't do it in on your own blog where can you(talk politics not "do it"). Wait better check patriot act just to make sure first.

I'm kind of afraid. During the last election I took *8* baths, one every 15 or so minutes (during which time I was fetal), trying to soothe myself when I saw how it was going toward the end. I think this election may be worse for me in that sense if I start to see it going in the "wrong" direction for me. I hope I can avoid pickling myself this year...
Please no comments on my wasting of water, I KNOW, it was just the ONLY thing that would soothe me. I love Obama and find him to be so inspiring and hopeful.
